Since entering office, the Biden Administration has taken more than 200 actions that target 80% of America’s energy supply. They’re key to the president’s “whole-of-government” approach to climate change policies. Yet after three years we can see the harm that’s being done.
Across the country, people are facing higher energy prices and persistent inflation on everyday items. Since January 2021, when a gallon of gas cost $2.41, prices have increased 52% to around $3.65 today, according to AAA. After years of home electricity costs remaining steady thanks to affordable natural gas, prices have shot up 29.4% since 2021. High costs are taking a toll. A record number of Americans say inflation is their top financial concern, according to recent Gallup survey. High energy costs are among the leading reasons.
Rather than acknowledge the painful reality, President Biden recently told CNN, “The polling data has been wrong all along.” He believes Americans “think the nation’s not in good shape, but they’re personally in good shape.”
