Congressmen Matheson and Tipton Cross State, Party Lines In Energy Telephone Town Hall

February 1, 2012

Identify Oil and Natural Gas Industry as Key to Spur Investment, Jobs and Revenue

(DENVER) – On Thursday, February 2, 2012, at 7:00 p.m., Congressmen Jim Matheson (D-UT) and Scott Tipton (R-CO) will cross state and party lines to participate in an Energy Telephone Town Hall discussing the potential for investment, jobs, economic growth and government revenue created by the oil and natural gas industry in the West. Matheson and Tipton will discuss the enormous energy potential in Utah and Colorado, as outlined in the Blueprint for Western Energy Prosperity.

Western independent oil and natural gas producers are able to help solve some of our nation's most pressing economic and energy security challenges, but bureaucratic red tape and government policies could put the energy potential at risk. There is a pressing need to update and modernize the regulation of energy development in the West if the United States is serious about increasing its domestic energy supplies and rebuilding the economy.

Western Energy Alliance is sponsoring this unique opportunity for constituents of Utah's 2nd and Colorado's 3rd
congressional districts to talk with their elected representatives and learn about the full promise of the West's oil and natural gas industry. Over 50,000 constituents will be invited to participate via telephone. Members of the press are also invited to dial in to (877) 228-2184, code 19375.

Who: Congressmen Jim Matheson (D-UT) and Scott Tipton (R-CO) and constituents of Utah's 2nd and Colorado's 3rd congressional districts.

What: Energy Telephone Town Hall

When: February 2, 2012, 7:00 p.m. MST
