Western Energy Alliance Applauds the Romney Energy Plan

August 23, 2012

(DENVER) – Western Energy Alliance today applauded the Romney Energy Plan.

"Western Energy Alliance is pleased that Governor Romney's energy plan recognizes that empowering states, rather than imposing a one-size-fits-all federal government approach, is the right way to increase American energy, create jobs, and grow the economy," said Kathleen Sgamma, Vice President of Government & Public Affairs for Western Energy Alliance.

"Our Blueprint for Western Energy Prosperity shows how oil and natural gas producers can displace significant imports from unfriendly foreign nations in just six producing states in the West. By empowering states and modernizing bureaucratic processes, our nation can unlock energy resources on non-park, non-wilderness federal lands while achieving a better balance between economic growth and environmental protection."

Western Energy Alliance's study, The Economic Impacts of Oil & Gas Development on Federal lands in the West, was referenced in the Romney Energy Plan. To better understand how delays to oil and natural gas projects are preventing jobs and economic growth in the West, please watch this video.
