Western Energy Alliance Expands Policy Team
Tripp Parks, Former Counsel for Senator Tom Coburn, to join the Alliance
(DENVER) - Western Energy Alliance announced today that Tripp Parks joined its staff as policy analyst to strengthen the association's public lands and wildlife advocacy. A former congressional aide, Parks comes with a background in energy, environmental, and regulatory policies. He served as counsel and legislative assistant to former U.S. Senator Tom Coburn (R-Okla.) and as counsel on the U.S. Senate Committee on the Judiciary. He holds a bachelor’s degree in political science from Rice University and a juris doctor degree from the University of Virginia, and is a member of the Oklahoma Bar Association.
“The oil and natural gas industry is facing significant regulatory overreach from the Obama administration, and we expect this trend to grow in his final two years in office,” said Tim Wigley, president of Western Energy Alliance. “Tripp’s deep policy and regulatory experience, as well as his legal insights, will be tremendous assets as we encounter greater federal encroachment of our industry.”
“Coming from Oklahoma, Tripp understands the critical role oil and natural gas plays in our national economy. He also understands the fundamental view that regulation is best done at the state level. He’ll be a valuable asset while supporting our member organizations and spreading the Alliance’s positive messages on responsible energy development on public lands,” concluded Wigley.
