DENVER – Western Energy Alliance today applauded the announcement of Steve Pearce’s nomination as the next director of the Bureau of Land Management (BLM). The following comment is attributable to Alliance President Melissa Simpson:

“Steve Pearce is a great pick. As a westerner coming from a state that’s nearly 20 percent BLM land, he understands the bureau’s mission. As a former congressman and chair of the Congressional Western Caucus, his record shows he’s been a champion of multiple-uses of public lands. Steve has been a longtime friend who understands the value of energy development among other uses. We urge the Senate to move quickly on his nomination because Steve will be a great leader.”
