DENVER – Western Energy Alliance issued the following statement in support of the Bipartisan American Affordability and Jobs Act of 2026, a bill to improve the process of obtaining federal permits and completing environmental reviews for energy and infrastructure projects. The statement is attributable to Melissa Simpson, president of the Alliance:

“America is a nation of builders, and we’re blessed with an abundance of natural resources to sustain our economy. Yet, too often projects are delayed because of excessive government red tape and abuses of the legal system by activists. We witness this every day in the oil and natural gas industry, from the field to the courtroom. The Bipartisan Affordability and Jobs Act is an important step toward eliminating delays and providing greater certainty, while still prioritizing the environment. We’re pleased to see Congress work in a bipartisan manner and urge lawmakers to advance this bill before the current session ends.”
